2019 Holiday Gifting Inspiration
Late but finally sharing my favorite gift ideas for this holiday season. I’ve been on a mega health journey this year and results are rolling in! It has been wondering. So naturally, I’ve included some health related gifts too - super for loved ones and yourself. Remember to love yourself always, and especially during the holidays which can be hectic.

LARQ - Self cleaning water bottle
Now, I have not used one myself yet but have asked for one for Christmas and really hope I get it. This bottle self-cleans! I am envisioning keeping in my bag all week to have water on hand (refilling as needed) at all times and not worrying about washing it. I loathe buying water for many reasons and will rather go thirsty if I can stand it. And I get paranoid about bacteria building up over time in a reusable bottle so I wash daily. With this, I can instead clean once a week and not worry! Since it also cleans the water, bonus when water sources might not be up to my standards.
The Dutch House, Audiobook - narrated by Tom Hanks
The story is an honest and thoughtful look into the lives of a family. What truly makes it amazing is Tom Hanks bringing it to life with beyond amazing narration. I have always known him to be a talented actor but his talents do not cease there. I truly enjoyed listening to the depth and emotion he gave to the characters.
Infrared Sauna Session
I am totally and completely hooked in infrared sauna sessions. The benefits are almost endless. Some key ones are detoxification, improved circulation, stress relief, skin purification, mental benefits including decreasing chances of Alzheimer’s. So really, how can you not go? Being in NYC, there is no way I could have one in my apartment (if I had the room, I would!) so I book sessions with Higher Dose (https://higherdose.com/). They operate in various locations throughout the city, including some in Equinox Spas (you do not need a membership), making it easy to fit them in. Newbie’s should start with a 30 minute session. Higher Dose offers a nice deal for a new client 30 min session - making it a thoughtful, amazing and affordable gift. Not in NYC or just want other options? A quick internet search should bring up lots of options.
Parsley Health Membership or Assessment
Give the gift of wellness - not just health but true wellness with a membership to Parsley Health, or even just a Parsley Health Assessment to get started. They have truly helped me, and are continuing to help me, find and stay on my path to wellness. After years of having doctors brush off my concerns and symptoms and experimenting on my own it is such a relief to be with Parsley.
Ziva Meditation Technique
Now, I have never been one for things that seem too hokey, and while I suspected mediation did truly have some benefits I didn’t think it was for me. Who has the time? Who has the patience? That all changed when I heard about Emily Fletcher and her book “Stress Less, Accomplish More”. She touted meditation to get better at life, not good at meditation and how instead of just taking time out of your day, it will improve your life and in fact enable you to accomplish more. I decided the low cost entry point of the book to her thinking was low risk. I opted for the audiobook, which I suggest you do as well. Emily narrates it herself and she has a way about her that keeps you engaged, and even feeling calmer as you listen.
I was hooked pretty quickly into the book. I like data and facts, along with anecdotal stories plus clear guidelines and methods. Her book is full of all of that. I’ve now been meditating since June just based on the book.
She also offers an online course and in person classes in NYC (and sometimes London). I am planning to take her in person class soon, and would have done so sooner if dates had worked out. I cannot wait to up level my practice.
For a low cost yet highly impactful gift, I suggest the audio book. If you can spend more, I’d recommend the online course or if you can swing it and can attend, the in person course which is lead by Emily.
